Quebec in Spring: Gaspé Peninsula
From: $500 USD
Join us this spring to discover some of the finest birding in eastern Québec during the peak of spring migration. Our Quebec in Spring birding tour begins along the St. Lawrence River near Québec City before taking us to the spectacular shores of Tadoussac and the Upper North Shore, then onward through the mountains and coastline of the Gaspé Peninsula.
At Cap-Tourmente and Tadoussac, we’ll experience spring migration while exploring forests, marshes and shoreline habitats alive with songbirds, waterfowl and raptors. We’ll also take to the St. Lawrence in search of Beluga Whales, seabirds and other marine wildlife before crossing the river to continue our journey east.
From the migration hotspots around Rimouski and Bic National Park, we’ll travel into the boreal forests and rugged Chic-Choc Mountains of Gaspésie National Park before continuing to Gaspé, Forillon National Park and Percé. Along the way, we’ll search for northern specialties, experience some of Québec’s finest coastal migration and visit Bonaventure Island, home to an extraordinary colony of 55,000 breeding pairs of Northern Gannets—one of the great wildlife spectacles of eastern Canada.
Combining spring migration, boreal birds, seabirds, marine mammals and some of Québec’s most dramatic scenery, this journey offers an exceptional introduction to the wildlife and landscapes of eastern Québec.
